How long does CDL training take in Las Vegas?

At Truck U, Class A training takes four weeks, and Class B takes one to two weeks. The exact duration depends on your schedule and the program you choose. We offer evening and weekend classes so you can finish training without leaving your current job.

What do I need to enroll in a CDL school in Las Vegas?

You will need a valid Nevada driver’s license, a social security card, a DOT physical medical certificate, and a commercial learner’s permit before your first class. You must also be at least 18 years old to drive intrastate or 21 to drive interstate. Our front office team will walk you through each step before you start.

Yes. Every program at Truck U is approved by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and listed on the federal Training Provider Registry. This means your training meets all federal requirements for CDL licensing in Nevada.

What is the difference between a Class A and Class B CDL?

A Class A CDL allows you to drive combination vehicles like tractor-trailers with a gross vehicle weight rating over 26,001 pounds. A Class B CDL covers straight trucks, large buses, and other single vehicles over 26,001 pounds. If you are not sure which one suits your career goals, give us a call, and we will help you figure it out.

Do I need experience to enroll at Truck U?

No prior commercial driving experience is required for Class A or Class B programs. If you already hold a CDL and need to refresh your skills, upgrade your license, or remove an automatic transmission restriction, we have programs for that too.

Where is Truck U located in Las Vegas?

Our main training facility is at 4360 Blue Diamond Road, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89139. We also have a satellite classroom at 3564 W. Naples Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89103. The commercial DMV where you will take your CDL skills test is at 4110 Donovan Way in North Las Vegas.
